Scholastic Award Program

The application period for the 2021 Scholastic Award has closed.

Purpose

The purpose of this scholastic award is to recognize and promote academic effort, community involvement, and other meaningful endeavors of the youth of the community of which we serve.

Award Description

A total of Two Thousand Dollars ($2000) in scholarship money is being allocated for graduating Seniors of local High Schools. The scholarship money will be divided among winners. Each award will be a one time payment and will be awarded at commencement ceremonies or other award ceremonies.

Eligibility

The awards are open to all high school seniors graduating at the completion of the 2020-2021 school year who are residents of the Town of Pendleton (response area of the Wendelville Volunteer Fire Company).

Selection

Selection for the award will be made by the Scholastic Award Committee of the Wendelville Fire Company based on a number of factors including: academic performance, extracurricular activities, and community involvement. An essay of approximately 200 words on the following topic will also be used as part of the selection criteria: "How volunteering has affected my long term goals and improved life in Pendleton".
