Wendelville owns and utilizes a wide range of fire and rescue apparatus including 3 class A pumpers, an aerial truck, an all-purpose brush/grass fire and rescue vehicle, an ambulance, two utility task vehicles (UTVs) and one boat. Specialized equipment used by firefighters jnclude:

  • Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for protecting users against oxygen deficiency, gases and vapors at fires.

  • Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) and other emergency medical equipment for assisting in medical emergencies.

  • Hurst Rescue Tools (ie. Jaws of Life) for prying open vehicles involved in accidents when a victim may be trapped.

  • Thermal imaging cameras for identifying hot spots in fire situations or looking for people lost or missing by identifying them using body heat.

  • Gas detection meters for investigating carbon monoxide alarms.
